Case study

Change through
social skateboarding.

In the bustling streets of Bangladesh, where countless children struggle to survive without support, Bangladesh Street Kids Aid (BSKA) emerged as a beacon of hope. We witnessed firsthand the vital work of this small NGO, offering underprivileged children skateboarding lessons, basic care and education. Despite its noble mission, BSKA remained largely invisible, lacking the credibility needed to attract essential donations.

We wanted to change that!

WHAT WE DID

Rebranding

We updated Bangladesh Street Kids Aid (BSKA) visual identity, creating a new logo, vibrant colors, and a user-friendly website, enhancing its connection with the audience and mission clarity.

Marketing Campaign

Our "Red Wheel Society" campaign involved influencers and advocates from the skateboarding community, spreading BSKA's message online and offline, gaining extensive media coverage and support.

Documentary

Our film "Pushing Dhaka" spotlighted the struggles of Bangladesh's street children and showcased BSKA's impactful work. Premiering at renowned festivals, it highlighted BSKA's efforts to bring change.

Step 01

Rebranding

Our first step was an entire visual revitalization of BSKA. We set out to develop a new, refreshed look for the organization; everything from a logo to color palettes. The result is a striking new look that captures the essence of BSKA's mission while still resonating with audiences. Alongside the visual rebranding was the design and development of a user-friendly website, while we added other tools, such as a newsletter, to further facilitate communication and engage the community.

Step 02

Marketing Campaign

To raise awareness for our initiative, we launched a multi-media awareness campaign speaking to the skateboarding community: the red wheel society. This so-called society provides us with a network to work together for the betterment of the world. There are no invitations, no membership fees and no mandatory donations. This society is solely based on the idea of solidarity and community; reminding the children in need that they are not alone is giving them hope in a better future. No matter the distance, vast or small, having a network of united skateboarders in their back is giving them power and strength to master their everyday life.

Led and powered by the element of symbolism, skaters used a red roller in the middle of their boards, symbolizing the red circle in the center of the Bengali flag. This became the subject of conversations, propelling BSKA's purpose on all digital and non-digital media. Additionally, we produced a professional campaign video and created extensive visual content that we distributed across various channels. Press kits circulated among a wide network; our campaign received huge press, helped establish BSKA as an organization with value. Our funding shot up to an astonishing amount of $60,000 from large donors. We now have a large network of influential ambassadors, achieved 200k impressions, over 100 social media posts, and 16 press articles (print and online).

Step 03

Documentary

Another part of our journey was our documentary project in which we showed how skateboarding changes lives in Bangladesh. Through strong storytelling, we shed light on the lives of the street children in Dhaka and doing justice to BSKA's relentless work to empower these disadvantaged youths. Together, our efforts have not just mobilized crucial funds but set a movement into motion, as our group of ambassadors grows both in strength and numbers to further raise the voice of BSKA far and wide.
